Puppies: Setting the Tone Early

A puppy’s first months shape the dog they become. Our puppy training covers house training, foundational commands, and the kind of early socialization that helps a young dog grow into a confident adult instead of an anxious or reactive one. For Lowcountry families, that means preparing your puppy for a life that includes crowded sidewalks, car rides, and busy park afternoons, not just a quiet backyard.

Obedience: Training for Everyday Experiences

Every dog learns the same five core commands with us: heel, sit, down, stay, and come, plus a clear, consistent “no.” Training starts on leash and builds toward off-leash reliability, tested against real distractions like other dogs, people, and the kind of environments Charleston families actually live in. A dog who’s only obedient in a quiet room isn’t truly trained yet. We test for the walk through James Island County Park, not just the driveway.

Rehabilitation: Working Through Anxiety, Fear, and Reactivity

Some dogs need more than commands. If your dog is anxious, fearful, reactive, aggressive, or still adjusting after coming from a shelter or rescue, our Rehabilitation program addresses what drives the behavior. Through individualized assessment, positive reinforcement, and gradual exposure, we help dogs throughout the Lowcountry build genuine trust and confidence, not just short-term compliance.

Your dog stays in an indoor, climate-controlled kennel on James Island and trains daily, both on and off leash, for a length of time determined at your free evaluation.

Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks obviously hasn’t gone to K9 Control! My 4 and 5 year old dogs spent 6 weeks with the Hannahs and WOW! I was floored by how well the training worked. This place is great! We had Deandre train our dog Pepper and she came back absolutely perfect! Way less anxious and knows commands like the back of her hand.
